He has served on the Regina Airport Authority’s board of directors since 2023 and was previously director of business development at Economic Development Regina as well as at Shermco Industries.
Tate was also a managing partner at the local restaurant Cathedral Social Hall until 2023, and part of the capital fundraising campaign for Globe Theatre’s recent renovation.
The news release describes him as an “energetic and versatile business leader,” adding that the Chamber’s board of directors is confident Tate’s leadership will move the organization forward.

The Chamber also extended a message of gratitude to outgoing CEO Tony Playter “for his outstanding leadership and dedication.”

“I take a lot of pride in where the organization is today,” Playter said in an interview with the Leader-Post shortly after announcing his decision in September.
Meanwhile, the Chamber has also revealed changes to the board of directors for 2025.
Wura Dasylva (Miller Thomson financial group) takes on the role of board chair from Addison (Mitchell Developments), who will stay on as past chair. Pauline Wagner (chief financial officer of Harvard Developments) moves to the vice-chair role.
Robbie McLellan (MLT Aikins LLP law firm) and Austin Bentz (PFM Capital Inc.) are newcomers to the board, while seven other directors will continue their current terms.
